Vladimir (Velve) Tarnopolsky

Vladimir (Velve) Tarnopolsky was born in Rzhishchev, Ukraine about 1885. He married Sonja and they had three children; Israel, a daughter and Menachem. Tragedy then befell the entire family. Israel shot himself in 1932 because of a problem associated with his war service. The daughter was killed by a bomb when she tried to escape from German troops in 1941. Menachem was killed on the German front in 1942. When Sonja heard of this, she jumped onto a railway and was killed by a train. Even Vladimir lived only to the age of 37.

David was a steelworker and attempted to rescue a man in a tunnel filled with gas. They both became asphyxiated and died in 1923
