Shirley Paul

B- February 18, 1926 D- April 26, 1930

Shirley Paul was the daughter of Edward and Laura Jacobson Paul, Shirley contracted a serious illness as a child and died in 1930. Obviously, Edward and Laura were very upset over her death and did not talk much of it. Shirley's lot is B21-2-43. She is buried near her grandparents Harry Jacobson & Rose Jacobson.

Carol Robbins added, " according to my mother, Shirley had been quite sick for about a year prior to her death. She had brain surgery to try to stop a cerebral hemorrhage and died either during or after the surgery. My mother was quite secretive regarding the nature of her illness. Aunt Lydia Davis, Michael's mother, seemed to think she had leukemia. When my parents passed away, I found pictures of Shirley and then "brought her out of the closet" and had a memorial candle lit for her at our Synagogue. I couldn't understand why they had kept her "hidden" for so long, but I suppose it just would have been too painful for them.

Shirley is on this little plane that was part of a parade in Atlantic City prior to her death. Unfortunately this is the largest photo we have.
